Montgomery County Commission Installs Parking Spaces for Combat-Wounded Veterans
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (01/25/2024)- Montgomery County is proud to announce the installation of 12 new dedicated parking spots for combat-wounded veterans.
Located strategically near entrances, the spaces ensure ease of access for wounded veterans visiting County parks and Probate/Revenue Annex facilities.
The spaces are marked with easily recognizable signage featuring the Purple Heart medal, the United States military’s decoration awarded to those injured or killed while serving.
“Montgomery County has a rich history of supporting the men and women who have bravely served our nation in uniform,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “This is a small way for us to show our gratitude and give back!”
This project is part of the County’s continued commitment to supporting veterans and service members.
Spaces have been installed at the following locations: Montgomery County Probate/Revenue Annex West, Montgomery County Probate/Revenue Annex East, Montgomery County Probate/Revenue South, Montgomery County Activity Center, Flatwood Community Center, Elton Dean, Sr. Park, Pintlala Park, Ramer Park, Snowdoun Park, Catoma Park, Waugh Park, and Wayne Enzor Park.
