Investors in the Chamber’s Regional Partners in Growth Initiative imagined a greater Montgomery could be built through a competitive and fully integrated economic development program. Together, we have achieved record-breaking success.
Fueled by momentum, investors, partners, and economic development experts leaned in to create a blueprint for the future. The Maximizing Momentum action plan forges a clear path ahead, refocusing the Chamber’s priorities and capacity around the highest value opportunities to accelerate economic growth and vibrancy in Montgomery and the capital region.
Maximizing Momentum revealed what we already know — the Chamber is valued by stakeholders for its consistent performance and unique capacity to integrate all aspects of economic development around strong public and private partnerships. The process also revealed that funding for the Chamber’s economic development program of work has not kept pace with the competition. Maximizing Momentum is not a fundraising campaign, it is a mindset — redeploying the Chamber’s focus and assets to the most critical catalysts for growth, while broadening the base and level of investment in economic development.
To our long-standing Regional Partners in Growth who have believed in and invested in the Chamber, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your confidence. To our new investors, we warmly welcome you to the partnership.

A Blueprint for the Future
-
Maximizing Momentum requires a renewed focus for the Chamber's program of work. This involves scaling back non-essential efforts and enhancing initiatives that can drive diverse job and wealth creation to stimulate the regional economy. The strategic plan is built on three pillars:
- Enhanced talent and workforce programming
- Doubling down on the Chamber’s core competencies in new and existing industries, while elevating knowledge-based and information technology sectors to match Montgomery’s legacy sectors
- Drilling into tourism and the visitor experience as a powerful catalyst for regional growth
Each pillar aims to attract and retain more people and businesses in the greater Montgomery region, driving prosperity for all.
