Montgomery, AL- The Mayor’s Young Professional Council will host a panel on Monday, December 4th at 4pm at The Lab on Dexter, aiming to delve into the significance of the evolving role of Millennials and Gen Z in shaping the political landscape through participation in civic engagement and voting power. As Millennials and Gen Z increasingly assume the majority of eligible voters, understanding their perspectives, motivations, and engagement strategies is crucial for a thriving democracy.
The panel will focus on the recent Supreme Court victory, led by Millennials and Gen Z, discussing digital engagement, intersectionality creating a frame that focuses on civic engagement and voting power for Millennial and Gen Z voters from here forward.
Titled From Here Forward: Millennial & Gen Z Voting Power After Milligan v. Allen , the panel will include Evan Milligan and Khadidah Stone, plaintiffs in the Supreme Court case, Milligan v. Allen, Sam Duff, voting strategist at ACLU of Alabama, and Zy’Asia Belser of Destiny Driven. Anneshia Hardy, Executive Director of Alabama Values Progress will moderate.
There will also be remarks from State Senator Robert Stewart and JaTaune Bosby Gilchrist, Executive Director of ACLU of Alabama.
