As the restaurant industry across the country has been forced to make unprecedented changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, one local coffee shop is giving back and serving the community in a new way.
Located on Dexter Avenue in the Kress Building, Prevail Union coffee shop has long believed, as did William Faulkner, that "man will not merely endure, he will prevail.” Today, this coffee shop is continuing to spread its message of hope and community and is prevailing by offering “batch brew donations” to the people who need it most – those on the front lines fighting COVID-19. For only $15, individuals can purchase 96 oz. of Prevail coffee to be brewed, packaged and delivered to the doctors and nurses in Montgomery area hospitals.
Following the statewide mandate to close dine-in service, several local businesses have transitioned to carry-out and delivery service only, including Prevail Union. Supporting a small business at this time also helps to support those that are helping to save lives. It is important to recognize the valiant efforts made by doctors and nurses, not just in relation to COVID-19 but in the work that they do every day. While gifting coffee is just a small gesture, the shop hopes to encourage others to follow their mantra of “alone we may endure, but together we will prevail.”
Established in 2016, Prevail Union Montgomery is the second "union" iteration of the Prevail family. Prevail Union is a craft coffee shop focusing on delivering fresh roasted coffee and unique drinks while in a comfortable environment. The coffee shop cares deeply about their farmers and works with like-minded producers all over the world to source incredible coffee's, grown with pride and patient respect for our Earth.
