This morning, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Alabama's 2nd Congressional District Candidates as part of our Washington Brief Series. The event featured Caroleene Dobson (Republican) and Shomari Figures (Democrat), both contending for the opportunity to represent District 2. Moderated by former City Council member and former 10-year Congresswoman, Martha Roby, the event offered voters a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on key issues.
The Chamber’s commitment to promoting an informed community was central to the event, providing residents and businesses a platform to engage with the candidates who will shape the future of District 2. Throughout the debate, the candidates discussed critical national and local priorities, including economic development, defense spending, and rural healthcare—issues that resonate deeply within the district.
Tune in for the full airing of the Alabama's 2nd Congressional District Candidate Event in its entirety from 4:00 - 5:30 P.M. CST on Wednesday, October 2nd, on WSFA and WALA (Mobile).
