    Alicia Bookout Named Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Aid at Troy University
    Alicia Bookout has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Aid at Troy University, effective June 1. Bookout is a veteran TROY administrator with experience in a variety of roles. She currently serves as Senior Director for Enrollment Services, Out-of-State Operations and Military & Veterans Affairs.

    TROY Names New Director of Hall School of Journalism and Communication
    Dr. Robbyn Taylor has been named Director of the Hall School of Journalism and Communication. Taylor fills the position left vacant by former Director Dr. Jeff Spurlock, who held the title from 2014 until August 2021. Taylor previously served TROY as Student Publications Adviser and lecturer in the University’s Strategic Communication master’s program, in the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program and in various undergraduate courses.

    Jackson Thornton Announces New Team Members
    Jackson Thornton, a certified public accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Montgomery, has added Justin K. Clark and Susan S. Barnes to the firm. Clark is a principal in the firm’s Auburn/Opelika office and joins Jackson Thornton Asset Management (JTAM) as a financial advisor. He holds both graduate and undergraduate degrees from Troy University and also holds professional membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the ASCPA. Barnes is a Senior Manager in the firm’s Montgomery office and provides Outsourced Controller/CFO services to clients. She has a CPA firm background and has consulted with clients to develop procedures to better utilize their current accounting software. Barnes is a graduate of Auburn University and holds professional membership in the AICPA and ASCPA.

    Warren Averett Makes Montgomery Promotions
    Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors promoted 16 individuals in the Montgomery office. Cody Daughtry, CPA, CITP, was promoted to Senior Manager in the Audit Division. Daniel Lee, CPA, was promoted to Senior Manager in Warren Averett’s Korean Business Services. Scott Vance was promoted to Senior Manager and Director of Technical & Security Services in Warren Averett Technology Group. Emily Jones, PMP, CABM, MCITP, was promoted to Principal and Practice Leader of Warren Averett Technology Group.

    Mayor’s Cabinet Grows
    Mayor Steven L. Reed recently announced two appointments to his cabinet. Darryl Washington will serve as Director of Economic Development, and David Card was named Director of Parks and Recreation. Washington will lead the City of Montgomery’s community development, planning and neighborhood services divisions to ensure a cohesive growth strategy. Card will deliver on Mayor Reed’s multimillion dollar investment into Montgomery community centers, parks and athletic facilities.

    Nicole Faulk Elected to New Role
    Nicole Faulk was elected as Alabama Power’s Vice President of Transmission Construction and Protection & Control. In this role, Faulk will oversee the transmission line construction, substation construction and P&C field services teams, providing a dedicated focus on critical field activities to ensure safe and efficient implementation of large transmission projects
