COVID-19 has brought tremendous challenges – but also opportunities to serve.
We have never seen anything like this.
But we have seen difficult times before. Through it all, the people of Alabama stand with each other, even if we’ve had to stay a little farther apart recently. As financial professionals, our commitment remains the same — to help people, businesses and communities move forward.
In recent weeks, Regions Bank teams have been in touch with customers, learning about the challenges they face due to the coronavirus and identifying ways we can help. We announced a series of options for people struggling financially because of the pandemic. From loan payment deferrals, to waiving late fees for credit cards and more, there are services in the short term that can help. And in the long term, we’ll stay true to our mission to serve and support.
We are invested in the success of the River Region, and we want to be part of the solutions to the challenges our communities are facing. We are updating regions.com with details on financial options, so you can always check there for the latest information.
There are other ways we can help, too. You might have seen or heard the advertisements we’re running, encouraging financial donations to food banks. This advertising was originally purchased to promote our own products and services, but our teams recognized an opportunity to change the ads to promote food banks instead. These food banks are doing incredible work meeting urgent needs during the crisis. We encourage all who can to consider a financial gift to sustain their services.
Additionally, the Regions Foundation*, a nonprofit initiative of Regions Bank, is issuing grants to support organizations that are helping small businesses navigate financial challenges. And our associates are encouraged to join us in providing financial support to United Way agencies and various community foundations. The Regions Foundation will match their donations, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.
We are taking these steps because our roles as financial professionals are about more than dollars and cents. They’re about meeting the needs of our neighbors. They’re about using our resources to serve. They’re about making progress possible.
Our hope is to make this time a little easier. And we are committed to continuing to find ways to assist in the days to come.
