MGM Passenger Growth Continues through 2015
Montgomery, AL (Friday, January 22, 2016) – The Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) closed out 2015 with a 4% increase in passenger traffic over 2014, with 175,207 passengers departing MGM to destinations worldwide. 2015 marks two (2) consecutive years of growth for the Montgomery Regional Airport a first since 1999 and 2000. 2015 brought many successes to MGM - 13 months of continued growth thru August; a new webpage with a robust modern look along with a baggage claim area makeover highlighting local venues.
“The continuous growth is in line with goals that the Authority and our team set for ourselves. Furthermore, working closely with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce has allowed the Authority to leverage our limited resources to enjoy maximum benefit. Indeed, the partnership between the Authority and the Chamber has never been stronger. We expect the good news to continue while we acknowledge the somewhat turbulent political and economic times.” said Phil Perry, Executive Director, Montgomery Regional Airport.
“2015 was a great year for MGM. Our strategy created additional growth to circumvent unforeseen challenges with school starting August 4th and lower gasoline prices from slump in oil prices.” said Chip Gentry- VP, Air Service Development.
