Montgomery Chamber social media contest encourages community to Shop Small, Shop Local
Post photos at local businesses using #MGMShopSmall and #ShopAlabama
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – To encourage the community to “Shop Small, Shop Local” this holiday season, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is holding a social media contest now through Monday, Nov. 28
Shoppers who take a photo at their favorite small or local business and post it on Facebook or Instagram using #MGMShopSmall and #ShopAlabama will be entered in a drawing to win a prize basket full of products made by local businesses. The winner will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 29 on the Montgomery Chamber’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The Montgomery Chamber social media contest is being held in conjunction with Shop Small, a nationwide movement to celebrate small businesses. Part of the campaign includes Small Business Saturday, which is celebrated the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
“It’s important for us to support our local businesses not only on Small Business Saturday, but also throughout the year,” said Montgomery Chamber Board Chairman A. Bruce Crawford. “They are the backbone of our economy. They create jobs, drive innovation and stimulate economic growth. When we support our local businesses we are supporting our friends and neighbors and benefiting our community.”
