Montgomery, Ala. – September 17, 2018 – This October, top human resource professionals from across the country will flock to Montgomery, AL for the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Diversity Summit. The theme of this year’s conference is The Future: Diversity. Talent. Innovation – the Internal Culture and its Impact on External Culture and will focus on how these elements will shape the community’s future.

Featuring panelists from across the country, the 2018 Diversity Summit will help grow the leadership capacity of companies by engaging current leaders in conversation to improve diversity and inclusion to foster innovation. Breakout session topics range from the art of conversation to building a more inclusive tech culture, including a CEO session on the Millennial Mindset.
The summit will also include a small business workshop series featuring lectures by Christopher M. Jones, executive director and lead maker for the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub; Marilyn F. Booker, an attorney and managing director for Urban Markets Group at Morgan Stanley; and Michael J. Brathwaite, vice president of wealth management for Urban Markets Group at Morgan Stanley.
This event’s keynote speaker is Essye Miller, the Department of Defense Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer. As the primary advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Information Management/Information Technology and Information Assurance, Miller is a high-profile member of the Department of Defense and has roots in Alabama. She has also worked on non-intelligence space systems, critical satellite communications, navigation and timing programs, spectrum and telecommunications. She will be speaking at the summit and will also meet with local high school and college students.
The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Diversity Summit will take place October 2-3 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center.
