The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) and the Alabama Technology Network (ATN) announced the 2024 Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) award winners at their 25th annual ceremony in Montgomery. This event highlighted outstanding achievements in Alabama’s manufacturing sector and was attended by dignitaries and leaders from across the state. The Alabama Manufacturer of the Year awards have recognized excellence in leadership, performance, profitability, and workforce relations for over two decades, celebrating companies that set benchmarks for innovation, quality, and community impact. An independent panel selected winners based on their customer focus, employee commitment, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and investment in workforce training and development.
HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA was awarded 2024 Large Manufacturer of the Year. HPT is based in Montgomery and manufactures high-quality power transformers and related equipment for the North American electrical infrastructure market. “We are truly honored to receive this award,” said Kyungbum Nam, CFO of HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA. “It reflects the hard work and dedication of our 450 talented employees and our commitment to innovation and excellence. Today we celebrate not just an award, but the incredible journey we have embarked on since our establishment in Montgomery in 2011. Over the years we have dedicated ourselves to producing high-quality industrial power transformers and delivering innovative solutions to major utility companies across the United States. Receiving this prestigious award is a significant milestone for our company. It serves as a reminder of our responsibility to contribute positively to the community that has welcomed us so warmly. We are committed to giving back and making a meaningful impact in Montgomery and beyond.”
Our strong manufacturing community was further represented by two other area companies, Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. and MRaine Industries LLC, which were honored as nominees in the large and small categories, respectively.
