The Air Force Program Executive Office for Business Enterprise Systems (PEO-BES) located at Maxwell-Gunter AFB awarded a major Air Force wide Small Business Enterprise Applications Solutions (SBEAS) Contract to 20 small businesses. The contract scope is for up to $13.4 billion of work to be performed over a fifteen-year period if all contract option years are used.
The scope of this indefinite quantity contract includes the ability to procure comprehensive suite of Information Technology (IT) services and IT solutions to support mission and business operations across the Air Force by providing software development and commercial software configuration in a variety of environments. Additional IT services include, but are not limited to documentation, operations, deployment, cybersecurity, configuration management, training, commercial off-the-shelf product management and utilization, technology refresh, data and information services, information display services and business analysis for IT programs.
The BES Program Executive Officer , Mr. Rich Aldridge, has directed the preferred use of this contract for all Air Force information systems within his directorate, which has locations in Montgomery, Alabama, Dayton, Ohio, and San Antonio, Texas. There are approximately 2,100 military, civilians and support contractors working at all three locations. Additionally, based on past experience, every Air Force Major Command and other agencies around the world that support an AF requirement will likely be issuing task orders off of this contract vehicle.
Tri-ESA is a local Montgomery, Alabama-based company that was one of the 20 awardees. There are 14 companies that are located in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Based on the contract vehicle SBEAS replaced, some of these companies are likely to establish a local presence in Montgomery to allow them to better understand and serve PEO-BES requirements. As a result, the growing demand for IT skills in the River Region will continue.
On the previous 8-year contract, several companies such as Array Information Technology, DSD Laboratories, and IndraSoft, Inc. established local offices in Montgomery’s downtown business district at 60 Commerce Street and have benefited from and contributed to Downtown Montgomery’s revitalization.
The contract kick-off for SBEAS was on Tuesday, January 14 and all 20 companies were welcomed to Montgomery. A complete list of the companies that were awarded contracts is at https://www.netcents.af.mil/Contracts/SBEAS/.
