Thursday, April 8, 2021This Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers joined Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce leadership and the local business community at the Chamber’s first in-person Washington Brief (formerly Eggs & Issues) event of the year. Rogers, who serves as Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee, asserted his firm commitment to continued increases in funding to rebuild and modernize the military, voiced his support for infrastructure funding as well as his concerns about non-infrastructure related spending in President’s proposed plan, and what to expect during the remainder of the federal legislative year. Rogers also took questions from the crowd about Montgomery’s opportunity related to the future growth of space initiatives and the repatriation of manufacturing from foreign countries as an issue of national security and economic development. Friday, March 8, 2019The Chamber strongly supports Governor Ivey’s Rebuild Alabama Act and has joined with the State’s “Big 5” major metro area chambers of commerce to form a coalition of support around this critical issue. The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce believes that improved infrastructure is a top priority critical to economic development and the overall quality of life of citizens. Rebuild Alabama will help fund projects across the state, fueling job growth and ensuring that the Montgomery region is able to successfully compete for new business, better support military and defense missions, strengthen existing small and large businesses, enhance tourism growth, and support the workforce. The Governor’s plan is a long-term solution to improve transportation infrastructure and will help to leverage federal funding opportunities for further infrastructure investment. Friday, March 8, 2019The “Big 5 Chambers” of Alabama and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) have united with the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) to urge their support for Governor Kay Ivey’s Rebuild Alabama bill. The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA), Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, and The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama support the legislation to strengthen Alabama’s infrastructure.
