Rules & Objectives
Eligibility:
- Must be a student currently enrolled at a local college or university in the Montgomery area.
Goal
The Elevator Pitch Competition goal is to encourage entrepreneurship while providing university and college students with a forum for developing their professional presentation skills.
Objective:
- Create a compelling idea and showcase it in a video recording
- Sell your idea to a stranger in the time it takes to share an elevator ride (90 seconds)
- Present yourself in a professional and effective manner
- Capture and retain the attention of the judges
Video Submission Rules:
- Video record your business pitch and upload it to your personal YouTube page. Your YouTube page must be a public page.
- The length of the pitch video must be 2 minutes or less.
- Team pitches are allowed, but all members of the team must be enrolled at a local college or university.
- No more than two (2) members per team.
- No props, prototypes, or technology may be used to enhance a pitch.
- The last date to submit an entry is October 18, 2019 by 11:59pm (CST).
Pitch Criteria:
- Business pitch ideas must be for a for-profit business.
- The pitch idea should not violate any intellectual property rights that you are knowledgeable of.
Final Competition Details:
A panel of judges will select the top finalists that will move on to the Final Round at the RSA Tower.
The top College Finalists will give their Real Pitches on real elevators in the tallest building in Montgomery to win money and prizes to fund their business idea.
This event will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 5:30pm at the RSA Tower a 22-story building located in downtown Montgomery.
