The Alabama-Korea Education & Economic Partnership (AKEEP) and TROY are excited to invite 4th - 8th grade students to apply for the summer youth program, STARTALK: Cultural Treasure Hunters.
The theme for the 2018 curriculum is Cultural Treasure Hunters. Students will explore Korean language, culture and history through exciting activities, trips and hands-on fun led by experienced educators.
This opportunity serves not only as a summer program for students, but also as an introduction to global and multicultural awareness. We are excited to work with the National Security Agency, STARTALK, Troy University, and members of the Alabama Department of Education to present the program, which is the only one of its kind in the Southeast!
Eligibility:
- Treasure Hunters - 4th - 8th grade students who have no familiarity with Korean language and culture
- Peer Guides - 4th - 8th grade students with mid - expert level Korean language proficiency
*No prior knowledge in Korean language or culture is required or expected with the exception of
applicants to the Peer Guide program.
