TECHMGM and the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter-Education Foundation are delighted to host CampIT for current 8th grade students in the Montgomery area. CampIT will feature keynote speakers, hands on demonstrations and breakout sessions for students to learn, participate and engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Information Technology activities.
This event will be held on Wednesday, March 15th on the campus of Alabama State University (Abernathy Hall Auditorium) from 9AM to 1PM. Lunch will be provided for all students and chaperones. In addition, the students will receive t-shirts, goodie bags and door prizes during their participation.
Our business community and civic leadership recognize the ability for Montgomery to stay on the leading edge of innovation is in the investment we place in our young people. Having an opportunity to expose our middle school aged children to the careers and possibilities in STEM is just a start. CampIT is a great opportunity for your students to see how STEM is used in everyday life, the academic programs around STEM and how they can become more involved in the Montgomery community to explore additional opportunities in STEM.
Each school may select a maximum of 30 students to bring to CampIT.
