Montgomery, AL – Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) is thrilled to announce a special celebration event on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, to honor the district's academic progress. This year, MPS achieved a significant milestone, improving its district report card grade by one entire letter grade—a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of students, educators, families, and the broader community.
The celebration will occur at G.W. Carver High School, starting at 6 p.m. The event will feature remarks from district leaders, performances by student groups, and interactive displays showcasing the innovative programs and initiatives that have contributed to the district's success. "This achievement represents the commitment of our entire school community to fostering an environment where every student can thrive," said Interim Superintendent Jamie Wilson. "Raising our district grade is just the beginning, and we are excited to celebrate this step forward while looking ahead to even greater accomplishments."
