Peter Brown’s titles include New York Times best-sellers like The Wild Robot, The Curious Garden, Children Make Terrible Pets, and Mr. Tiger Goes Wild. Brown’s illustrations for Creepy Carrots!, written by Aaron Reynolds, earned him a Caldecott Honor.
During his visit, Brown will discuss how he grew from being a little guy who loved to draw and write, to being a big guy who makes picture books for a living. He will read and speak about the books he made for fun when he was a child and will also share the steps he took to become a professional author and illustrator. Brown will read one of his published books and will share some of the stories behind its creation. He will discuss his process of writing and illustrating and will give a drawing demonstration with some quick, simple drawing lessons.
The public is invited to Peter Brown’s presentation at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library on Thursday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. The Morgan Library is located at 245 High Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.
