About Essence Phenix

Essence Phenix is an accomplished entrepreneur, owning and operating multiple Smoothie King franchises across Alabama, including locations in Montgomery, Prattville, and Tuscaloosa. With over 17 years of experience in the franchising industry, she and her husband, Charles, have built a reputation for innovation and community involvement.

Essence’s commitment to business goes beyond her franchises. She’s an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and has served on key boards such as the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and the Wilson YMCA. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Essence was instrumental in the "Small Business Relief Fund", which distributed grants to local businesses impacted by the crisis.

With a background in Speech-Language Pathology, holding both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in the field, Essence has used her expertise in health and communication to further her work in the community as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She’s also a passionate mentor to aspiring business owners, sharing her knowledge in franchising and leadership.

Essence has been married to Charles for 21 years, and together they have two children, Kaitlin (20) and Andrew (16). Her leadership, community service, and dedication to mentoring others continue to inspire women in business across Alabama.
