The Bard and his book: The First Folio collected thirty-six of William Shakespeare’s plays, including eighteen that had never been printed before, seven years after his death. Come celebrate the 400th anniversary of its making with Susan Willis, Shakespeare scholar and former resident dramaturg for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (ASF). Willis will make a lively presentation about the iconic work — called the most important secular book of the Western world, typos and all — for your education and merriment. This program has been arranged by The NewSouth Bookstore in collaboration with ASF. Thanks, Layne Holley! Again, that’s Sunday, January 14 at 3pm.
