Where do I go? On the day of your volunteer serve time, please arrive at the Montgomery Zoo's Main Admissions Gate (2301 Coliseum Parkway, Montgomery, AL 36110). Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled serve time, and someone from our team will be there to greet you.
Parking: We ask all our volunteers to please park in the Chisholm Community Center parking lot. It is located adjacent to the Zoo's main entry. By parking at the community center, this will help us leave parking spaces for our Zoo guests, members, and families.
Important note: All volunteers must complete and submit a ZOO VOLUNTEER FORM (see attached). Please bring your completed volunteer form with you on the day you are planning to volunteer. All volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Volunteers 12-15 years old must also have a parent/chaperone volunteer alongside them at all times. Anyone under age 18 must have parental consent. Anyone in your group not fitting these qualifications will not be allowed to volunteer.
Dress code: Please dress appropriate to work outside on various projects. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. No flip-flops, sandals, and/or sliders. Shorts are acceptable; however, shorts cannot be shorter than two inches from the top of the knee. Should weather not permit outside work, projects may be moved inside; however, dress code remains the same.
Things you need: We will provide all the tools and/or gloves you need. Also, we will provide bottled water and snacks. If you have any special dietary needs, please make sure to bring that along with you for your safety and well-being.
If you have any additional questions, please contact me by any of the means listed below. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you and your group!
