Montgomery, AL -The King’s Canvas Gallery and Studio proudly announces the grand opening of its new art gallery in West Montgomery on the Selma to Montgomery March Trail at 1413 Oak Street. This event will take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and will showcase its new space that was renovated by Goodwyn Builders.
Through their significant contributions, Goodwyn Builders helped bring this vision to life. Their exceptional support has been pivotal in establishing a space where art can thrive and bring people together. The gallery’s construction stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, generosity, and Kevin King’s dedication to creative placemaking in historically disenfranchised communities.

In addition to Goodwyn Builders, The King’s Canvas extends heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals, partners, and supporters who contributed to making this gallery project a success, including Jud Blount and The Mary Katherine Archibald Blount Fund—named in honor of Blount’s grandmother—the Education Foundation of America, and Boyd Stephens along with the entire team from the I85 Cyber Corridor Initiative (
I85Cyber.org.) Their efforts exemplify a collective commitment to enriching arts and culture on Montgomery’s west side.
The new gallery uses art as a tool to create culture, providing a space that celebrates local talent. The opening will feature an inaugural exhibition, light refreshments, and an opportunity for the public to experience the vibrant creative energy of this historic space in West Montgomery.
