MONTGOMERY ZOO, MONTGOMERY, AL: Get excited for the most sensational weekend of the year, Montgomery Zoo’s 48th Annual Zoo Weekend. This year’s Zoo Weekend will be held on Saturday and Sunday March 16-17 at the Montgomery Zoo. Zoo Weekend dates back to the mid-70s and the success of this event allows the zoo to grow and build new exhibits. This year, the funds raised during Zoo Weekend will be contributed directly to the construction of a new Reptile Facility.
During Zoo Weekend, the Montgomery Zoo will be transformed into a carnival like atmosphere, with delicious concessions, adventurous rides, live entertainment, and more. Walk around the zoo to view our animals, play games, snack on cotton candy, and purchase a discounted membership. We are excited that all of the funds raised at this event will fund the construction of our future new Reptile Facility. The new reptile Facility will be home to the current reptile collection as well as new animals such as the Indian Gharial, King Cobra, Komodo Dragon, and Galapagos Tortoise. Inside the exhibit, displays will be divided into biomes; featuring reptiles native to rainforests, woodlands, deserts, and montane.
In honor of Zoo Weekend, we are offering a discounted rate for our memberships. It is the perfect time to purchase, renew, or even gift a membership to a friend. The discounted membership will be offered from March 1-31, 2024. Take advantage of the special pricing during this month only. The Montgomery Zoo is also actively seeking volunteers who share a passion for wildlife and community engagement to help out at Zoo Weekend. Volunteer opportunities range from overseeing rides, managing lines, assisting with games, and even helping with memberships.
