MONTGOMERY ZOO (Montgomery, AL): Teachers, students, and curious minds of all ages are invited to take part in Earth Day Safari, the Montgomery Zoo’s annual outdoor educational event happening April 24–25, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This fun and informative experience transforms the Zoo into a living classroom, focused on teaching the importance of environmental responsibility and wildlife conservation. School groups, science classes, and nature lovers will enjoy an engaging day filled with discovery and adventure. Due to overwhelming interest and growing participation, Earth Day Safari has expanded from a one-day event to two full days of educational fun and exploration.

During Earth Day Safari, students will explore the Zoo with a “passport” and scavenger hunt, visiting interactive stations hosted by local and statewide organizations. Participants will learn how everyday choices—like recycling, reducing waste, and protecting habitats—can positively impact the planet.

Participating partners include: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, Troy University Environmental Science Club, ADEM, Alabama Nature Center, Legacy, PALS, Seoyon E-Hwa Alabama, Tallapoosa Soil and Water, and EATSouth.

Reservations for school groups are required which provide discount on admission. Teachers can submit their reservation form online or via email.

Event admission includes full access to the Montgomery Zoo, Mann Wildlife Learning Museum, Waters of the World, and Reptile Facility. Guests can also enjoy zookeeper talks at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., offering up-close insights into animal care and conservation.

Guests can further enhance their visit with optional attractions like train rides, giraffe feedings, sky lift rides, and concessions, all available for a small additional fee.
